Wales is a country located on the west coast of the island of Great Britain and is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. The country has a proud history and even its own language and is known for its natural beauty and its friendly people.

One of Wales’ most well known natural attractions is Snowdonia, a huge national park in the north of the country. It is named after the largest mountain in Wales, Snowdon, which is the main attraction of the park. The park is full of rare animals such as Red Kite, Osprey and Peregrine Falcons as well as Otters and Polecats. It’s not uncommon to see military fighter jets as they blast through the park on low level training exercises.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo is a very popular attraction and is well known in the United Kingdom as being one of the countries best zoos. The Zoo contains various enclosures featuring a variety of animals such as Lions, Tigers, Bears, Eagles, Reptiles and even the incredibly rare Snow Leopard.

Among the natural attractions of Wales, few are as enchanting as the Llechwedd Slate Caverns. Travel 200 meters underground and see what life was like for the old slate miners here and explore the caverns in a train. This is another chance to see some of the natural beauty of Wales that were uncovered by its historical reliance on mining. There is also a slate workshop where visitors can see slate products being produced.

Wales is also home to various historical attractions, there are numerous castles but perhaps none are as imposing as Caernarfon Castle. The huge fort is beautifully preserved and even served for the investiture of the Prince of Wales. Today the castle is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is a truly astonishing sight to behold.
